Ben turned 2 on Saturday, the 22nd. Ben, DJ, and I were all sick the whole weekend, but we did have fun on Saturday night eating pizza, eating cake, and opening presents.

Tiff made an awesome truck cake with crumbled chocolate cookies as the dirt.
Ben has grown 5 inches since his last birthday

And to reminisce, here is DJ on his 2nd b-day

And finally, we got to enjoy some serious sugar last night pounding some Easter candy.

Lifehouse Concert

I became a fan of Lifehouse in 2001 when they had their big single in 2001 called Hanging by a Moment (see video below). It was one of my first Napster downloads, and I recalled telling my roommate Greg that “Napster is great because you can just get 1 song from a one-hit-wonder band like Lifehouse…that song is good, but I bet that whole CD sucks.”

I was wrong. Not only is that CD, No Name Face, by far the best CD I’ve ever owned, Lifehouse has been my favorite group for the past 7 years. They didn’t tour much up until the last couple years, and everytime they came through Austin when we lived there we weren’t able to go, and the same when we moved to Dallas. I found out they were coming through here about a month ago, and I thought I buy tickets. When I went to purchase them, they were sold out.

They were pretty expense on eBay, so I accepted that, again, I wouldn’t get to go. Then a friend at church said I should try and win them on the radio. A week later, I won 2 tickets to the concert, plus dinner at the venue, The House of Blues!!

Tiff and I went to the concert last night. We showed up to eat, and as we were talking to a lady that worked for the radio station, she told us that Lifehouse was coming to meet all of us (other winners on the radio) and we’d get to talk to them, get a photo, and an autographed poster. We finished dinner, and sure enough, in walked the band. We got to shake their hands, get a pic, and say hi. Then enjoy an awesome concert.

I normally don’t get goo-ga over celebrities, unless its Troy Aikmam or Tony Romo, but I was goo-ga-ed last night. It was so cool to meet them, and see them jam.
