Ben's First Haircut

Ben had his first haircut today. Not necessarily because he really needed, but because he was developing a mullett and had some crazy hairs sticking out.

Our Family and the Cowboys

DJ, Ben, and Aunt Kirsten have now completed an essential step towards happiness. Although it was only preseason, they have experienced a Cowboys game in Texas stadium. And it was a momentus occasion: They got to see the new highly paid kicker miss 2 chip shots in overtime, and see Terrell Owen's first catch as a Cowboy. Regardless of how you feel about T.O. being a Cowboy, it was cool to be there. Add that on top of being at Emmitt Smith's last home game as a Cowboy, I have lived a blessed life.

The ROOT of the problem....

The joys of homeownership. When problems arose the first time we used the master bathroom, we thought it was just a minor issue. Three weeks later, we realize its much more. Three plumbers have stated that there is no way the previous owners didn't know about the tree roots growing in our pipes. Therefore, we are going to let them pay the plumbing bill.

The main root that was pulled out of the line. Angelo, the plumber, said he has never pulled a root that large from a line before. The pipe was about 4 inches in diamater, and this root is about 3.5"

Birthday Boy!!

DJ celebrated his 3rd birthday on July 3. He has been so excited for his big day, to eat cup cakes and get presents. We sang, he opened presents, then that night we went to a Texas Rangers game. He LOVED it. He watch most of the game, and there was a great firework show afterwards.

DJ and Ben even got their moment of fame. Our seats were next to a camera man, and both boys got a couple of seconds on the jumbo-tron in the ballpark. It was awesome.

IT IS DONE

All done. 6 years of education has culminated into 4 tests...and they have been passed. Finally, its all done.

We think the house is a done deal. We went to the inspection yesterday and it went great. We got to look at the house in more detail and meet the owners, their small horses (great dane dogs) and cat, hence the desire for new carpet.

Here is Dad and DJ at a minor league baseball game. To my amazement, DJ wanted to stay to the end of the game. He loved it, and we even caught a foul ball.
