Another Cowboys loss...

For those of you keeping track at home, there is a timer in the left column of this blog that is counting the days since the last playoff win for the Dallas Cowboys, which happened exactly 12 years ago today (12/28/96 -I was in attendance). Thanks to their pathetic performance today to the hated Eagles, that will continue to count for at least another 365 days.

Ouch.

Halloween

For Halloween DJ was Spiderman, Ben was a lion, Tiff was a witch, and I was Tony Romo (broken pinky and all). The kids got out, walked alot and received lots of candy for their efforts. But to prepare the boys for the new presidential administration, we decided they couldn't keep their hard earned candy and it was heavily taxed by mom and dad. Candy redistribution. Welcome to the real world.

And we carved some pumpkins...

A couple of weeks before Halloween Tiff and I chaperoned a dance, and we went as rockers.

Cell Phone Pics

Both Tiff and I accumulate pics of the kids on our cell phones (the quality isn't great) that never make it to the computer. Below are some over the past year that I liked.

Tiff and Ben on Halloween

Ben fell asleep at the dinner table

Massive sunburn from the fishing trip

DJ being silly

The boys enjoying a Frostie

A mix between Super Ben the Hulk

Playing dress-up

With their sombreros and toys from Mexico

Standing on a air vent blowing up some serious air

Hershey figured out how to climb stairs! She is in the fort in our back yard, about 5 ft off the ground.

Its about time....

Life has been busy for us lately....I'll let the pictures do the talking.

July-
DJs 5th birthday party - DJ had a pirate party and invited most of his friends...

Upshaw Family Reunion in San Antonio - We all met for a couple of days and had a great time playing ping pong, eating, and just hanging out. And of course DJ and Ben had a blast with their cousins.

Our hand built cart races

DJ went fishin' with grandpa

DJ with Lauryn and Jacen

Our Longhorn Family

The Upshaw 6 (not to be confused with the Oceanic 6)
All in our college alma mater shirts

Our Family as presently constituted

August -
Just trying to beat the heat of Dallas....we got a new dog, Hershey, a chocolate lab, and she has been a fun addition to our family, although she has destroyed our once lovely back yard.

DJ rockin' out...still won't forgive my parents for buying him that hat...

at the zoo...

DJ started kindergarten!! Needless to say it has been an adjustment to our family....mom and Ben miss him during the day, but he loves going and has already made friends.

September-
I took my annual fishing trip with my dad and brothers to Eagle Nest, NM. We caught our limit again this year, and cooked up some good rainbow trout. Good times.

From the fishing trip I flew to Sao Paulo, Brazil for work. I spent 2 days in Sao Paulo and 3 days in Rio de Janeiro. It was a great trip, other than the flights to and from, but on my last day in Rio I was able to get out and see some of the sights. Rio is absolutely beautiful...

Tiff was a trooper as I left her for 10 days with the 2 kids, and being 5 months pregnant.

On that note, we found out that Upshaw #3 is a girl!! Tiffany is due on January 16, and we're excited. This proves the theory that if, as an Upshaw, you have 3 kids, the 3rd should be a girl. She'll only be the 2nd granddaughter for Gma and Gpa Upshaw, compared to the 10 grandsons (including Dave and Ginger's twin boys), and the 3rd granddaughter (7th grandchild) to Gma and Gpa James.

Sleeping Positions

Over the years we've found it quite humorous how our kids sleep. We started taking pictures of them asleep so we could embarrass our children when the time was right. Its right.

Almost got the remote

Too much shopping with mom

Uncle Aaron was telling DJ another one of his stories...DJ was really into it...

I have no idea.

Asleep even sitting that close together...happened once, and never again.

Too much partying...needed complete darkness. (there is a kid under there)

Yes, that is a toy syringe. Don't ask.

Sometimes its hard to get comfortable.

Passed out on the toy chest

Exhausted after destroying his room

Again, I have no idea.

Finishing the carrots is physically draining.

We find Ben like this probably 3 nights a week.
But the pull-up was an added bonus.
